Trust & access

Privacy notice

Plain-language commitments for a safe, credible community website.

Private by default

Contact messages, subscriptions, support forms, organization endorsements, volunteer interests, and erosion reports are used only for Task Force work. Exact locations and contact details are limited to authorized reviewers and are never automatically published.

Our privacy standard

We voluntarily follow CCPA-aligned principles of purpose limitation, data minimization, reasonable security, access, correction, and deletion, whether or not that law applies to the Task Force. We do not sell or share submitted personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

What we collect

We collect the information and files you submit, the time of submission, and the consent choices you make. Uploaded evidence is stored outside the public website. This site contains first-party analytics event hooks but does not include an analytics vendor, advertising trackers, or third-party tracking.

Public evidence

The public map and resident stories use a separate reviewed content source. Exact residential addresses, property-owner names, private contact information, and original detailed submission records are not served by the public map.

Retention

  • Supporter, volunteer, organization-endorsement, and contact submissions: up to 24 months after submission or the last meaningful interaction.
  • Erosion reports and private uploads: up to 3 years after submission or the last documented review.
  • Rejected records and completed verified withdrawals: deleted within 30 days.
  • Email-signup intake records: deleted within 90 days after successful transfer to the approved mailing-list system.
  • Temporary reviewer exports: deleted after use and no later than 30 days.
  • Payload-free audit records: up to 3 years.
  • Routine database and upload backups: up to 90 days.

These are maximum periods. We delete information sooner when it is no longer needed. A documented legal or active-case preservation need may extend retention for only the affected records and is reviewed annually.

Your choices

You may ask to access, correct, withdraw, or delete submitted information. Use the contact form and include the exact SPC reference and the request, but do not send identity documents or repeat private details. We verify requests through the reference and original contact channel. Public use of a resident name, image, or precise story requires separate review and consent.
